The Vagina Monologues at Wilkes University

Each year students at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA organize their own rendition of The Vagina Monologues, a play originally written by Eve Ensler that explores sexual experiences, body image, sex work, and several other topics from women’s points of view.

In addition to the performances, students will also be collecting donations of feminine hygiene products to donate to local resources.

The organizers behind the Wilkes performance have decided to donate the proceeds of their shows to various beneficiaries. Ten percent will go to the V-Day organization, a group that is dedicated to ending violence against women and girls around the world. The remaining funds are to be split evenly between local organizations: Caring Communities, the Victims Resource Center, and the Domestic Violence Service Center.

We are honored to be chosen as a beneficiary of the Wilkes Vagina Monologues performances. During both performance times we will have staff available to answer questions and give out more information about the Caring Communities mission and services that we offer the community.

We hope to see you there!
