This year Caring Communities is once again taking part in the incredible event known as Raise the Region.
Raise the Region is an initiative created by the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania, based in Williamsport, PA. This initiative is a unique, online period of giving that provides the opportunity for people who care about their community to come together and raise as much money as possible for local nonprofits. The fundraiser begins March 13, 2019 at 6pm and will be live for just 30 hours, until 11:59pm on March 14, 2019.
Not only does the event push for charitable donations from the public, but the generosity of local businesses allows for even more prizes and money to be donated. Raise the Region has once again partnered with the Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships (Lewisburg, PA). Through Blaise Alexander’s generosity, all donations made during the 30-hour period will be matched!
Additional prizes for the nonprofits are available based on criteria such as how many donations they receive during a set time period, most donations received, and a few that require luck of the draw to win (awarded randomly). These are thanks to the kindness of Toyota, Subaru, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Susquehanna, and the Larson Design Group.
Any donations made to Caring Communities will help us assist our clients who are currently living with HIV in North Central Pennsylvania. Your donations can help us cover necessities for our clients like food cards, transportation costs for medical appointments, and housing and utilities costs. Donations will also allow us to offer medical assistance such as finding a dentist and receiving a dental exam, and providing access to life-saving medications.
Remember to mark your calendar or set a reminder in your phone for March 13-14! We will also be posting all day long during the event to remind you to donate and help your community!
