Employee of the Month for February 2019: Meghen Waite and Rosa Del Rosario

You read that correctly: we had a tie for our February Employee of the Month! Congratulations to Meghen Waite and Rosa Del Rosario on the outstanding work you do for Caring Communities!

Meghen began with Caring Communities just a few months ago in December of 2018. She has proven to be a huge asset to our Early Intervention Services (EIS) department in her Community Health Worker position.

In May 2018, Meghen graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Slippery Rock University. While there, she was a member of the board for the student chapter of the Pennsylvania Public Health Association. She also completed a three-month long internship with the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center, working with their Health Promotion Disease Prevention Office. In this internship she provided health education and helped create prevention programs for veterans, including a 4-week long program surrounding chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Meghen’s eagerness to help others that sparked her interest in Public Health, as well as to her current position with Caring Communities. She finds that her favorite part of the position is knowing that she is making an impact in the overall health of our local community. She also credits the vast variety of people she meets each day for shaping her learning experiences.

Rosa is one of our Case Managers. She frequently meets with our clients who are living with HIV and helps them with things such as housing, food, and transportation to medical appointments. She helps clients set goals and regularly checks to see how their progress is doing. Rosa’s work has been invaluable to the Case Management department.

Congratulations once again to our winners: Meghen and Rosa!
